Getting started
- School setup: confirm school name, logo/branding, academic terms, classes, and grading settings.
- User roles: create staff accounts and assign roles (admin, teacher, finance, etc.).
- Import or add learners: add learner records (or import if available) and assign to classes.
- Operate daily: attendance, assessments, fees, receipts, and reports.
Exact screens and modules can vary by plan/configuration. The school admin controls which modules are enabled and who can access them.
Core modules (typical)
- School registry: school profile, academic year/term, classes, streams, houses.
- Learners: admissions, student profiles, promotions, transfers, guardians.
- Attendance: daily/term attendance and summaries.
- Assessments: continuous assessment, exams, report cards (as configured by the school).
- Finance: fee heads, invoices, receipts, balances, ledgers, reports.
- Communication (optional): SMS/email integrations as configured by the school.
- Admin & security: users, roles, audit logs (where enabled), backups.
Accounts, roles, and permissions
SchoolManager™ uses role‑based access control. Schools should:
- Give each staff member their own login (no shared passwords).
- Grant the minimum permissions needed for their job.
- Enable multi‑factor authentication where available.
- Review access when staff change roles or leave.
Data protection essentials (for schools)
- Collect only what you need for education administration.
- Keep guardian contact details accurate and up to date.
- Don’t upload sensitive documents unless necessary; avoid sharing learner names in support screenshots.
- Set clear retention rules for exports and printed reports.
Integrations
Schools may connect third‑party providers for communications or payments (e.g., SMS gateways, email SMTP, payment processors). These are configured by the school and may require separate contracts and privacy notices.
